Chun Kwang Young: Times Reimagined is a Collateral Event of the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Supported by the Boghossian Foundation, the exhibition Chun Kwang Young: Times Reimagined presents the aesthetics of the Korean artist at the Palazzo Contarini Polignac during the 59th Biennale of Venice. The exhibition is curated by Yongwoo Lee, and includes 40 large-scale mulberry-paper reliefs, sculptures, and installations by Chun. Anselm Kiefer at Palazzo Ducale, Venezia

Coinciding with the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, MUVE Contemporaneo presents a monumental installation by the German artist Anselm Kiefer at the Palazzo Ducale in Venice, Italy. Anselm Kiefer created the series of huge paintings specifically for the Sala dello Scrutinio in the Doge's Palace in 2020 and 2021. The exhibition is curated by Gabriella Belli and Janne Sirén and is the centerpiece of the fifth edition of MUVE Contemporaneo, the biennale organized by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia. The title of Anselm Kiefer's show is from the writings of the Venetian philosopher Andrea Emo: Questi scritti, quando verranno bruciati, daranno finalmente un po’ di luce (These writings, when burned, will finally cast a little light). The exhibition runs until October 29, 2022.

Artist Fabrizio Plessi on L’età dell’Oro

Italian artist Fabrizio Plessi discusses his installation, L’età dell’Oro, which illuminates the façade of the Museo Correr in Venice until November 15, 2020. Supported by Dior, this striking work by the video art pioneer depicts a perpetual cascade of molten gold, which not only finds a mirror in the gilt mosaics of Basilica di San Marco opposite but also acts as a more symbolic light in the darkness of our times.

Zilvinas Kempinas: TUBE

The Renaissance building Scuola Grande della Misericordia houses the Lithuanian Pavilion at the 53rd International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia in Venice, Italy. In this building, the artist Žilvinas Kempinas presents his large-scale installation, TUBE which can be described as a translucent tunnel of parallel lines, created with magnetic tape. TUBE resonates with the environment of the floating city and creates a space where vision and movement are linked by means of the body. It addresses the physical and optical experiences of the viewer, and the passage of time, while creating the feeling of being inside and outside simultaneously.
