Tom Sachs
Tom Sachs (b. 1966) is an American artist. Throughout his career, he has built numerous space-related sculptures and his interest in space – in particularly the Apollo program of the 60s and 70s – resulted in his ‘Space Program’ 2007, where he built a 1:1 model of the Apollo lunar module. Here, Sachs talks to Mikkel Rosengaard at his studio in NYC and shares his fondness for space exploration, which he feels has similarities to religion: “You don’t build a rocket without wanting to understand if God exists.” Camera by Pierre Jackson. Produced and edited by Roxanne Bagheshirin Lærkesen and Christian Lund.
