Willemskantine

Willemskantine (2020) is an Amsterdam-based visual artist, creating both photography and film that balances between documentary and fashion. Willem’s approach is formed by his precise way of working and technical knowledge of his craft. Having completed a technological photography education, Willem pays as much attention to the process as he does to his creative vision. As a true child of Gen Z, Willem builds upon a plethora of self-researched references, his (online) network, and his digital skills. He is interested in both digital and analog camerawork and has lab experience in developing. Fueled by his radical dedication, Willem has been making significant steps in image-making from a young age, always aiming to celebrate diversity through casting, lighting, and styling choices that show the beauty of every individual. In moving image, Willem uses an array of aesthetic storytelling techniques to grab the viewer’s attention regardless of the subject. Willem has worked on short films, music videos and commercials, all with the intention of conveying a story in the most compelling way possible.
