Åsa Lucander

Åsa Lucander is an illustrator and animator, with 10 years of industry experience working in illustration, animation and graphic design, both in the UK as well as Scandinavia. She is from Finland, but has been living in London since 2001. Åsa has a passion for hand rendered drawings and explores many different textures and mediums in all areas of her work. Both independently and through long term collaboration with studio 12foot6, she has directed commercials and animations for TV and online, as well as directed multiple short films which have been screened internationally. Her animations are lively and playful, with humor that is sometimes dark yet offbeat and liberating. She nimbly blends music, authentic dialogue, film segments, hand drawn characters and dolls in innovative ways. Her latest short film, Lost Property, will be released in spring 2014.
