Cali Tee

Cali Tee is a ceramic artist from the Bay Area now making table wear in her Silver Lake studio. After graduating with a BFA at Rhode Island School of Design, where Cali studied furniture design, she began to explore sculpting with clay. The rigid process of furniture making left Cali wanting a more free flowing spontaneous process. Cali is drawn to the beautiful asymmetrical qualities that the process of hand building produces. Cali often will cut unique shapes out of clay and transpose it to another piece of clay, then compresses the two clays to create a uniform surface, which often looks as if the ceramics were painted. Every piece is one of a kind as a result of using the technique of hand building. Food safe and dishwasher safe, but hand washing is suggested.
