    Alejandro Cardenas is a Chilean-Peruvian painter, born in Santiago in 1977, who lives and works in Madrid. A Cooper Union graduate, he spent over a decade as lead textile designer and art director for Proenza Schouler before turning to painting surreal, post-human worlds of faceless, zigzag-patterned figures.
