James Laxton is an American cinematographer best known for his collaborations with filmmaker Barry Jenkins, specifically his work on Jenkins' 2016 film Moonlight, for which he won an Independent Spirit Award and received his first Academy Award nomination.
Growing up in southwest Germany, Jonas started his love for film by shooting skate culture. His style evolved while attending the University of Arts in Berlin, where he explored a conceptual yet minimal aesthetic. With an impressive portfolio of clients like Hermès, Uniqlo & Adidas, Jonas has already made a massive imprint on the industry.
