Glass Beams - One Raga to a Disco Beat

This is a cover of ‘Raga Bhairav’ by Charanjit Singh, taken from the 1982 Album ‘Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat’. Created in Mumbai in 1982, the original song is one of the earliest records to use the Roland TB 303 bass line synthesizer – the sound of acid house. Futuristic without intention, the album pre-dates the first acid house records of Chicago. ॐ शांति

Wax Casting with Isadora Vaughan by ACCA Education

ACCA Art Kitchen #1: Wax Casting with Isadora Vaughan is the first in our new series of artist-led video workshops that aim to give educators and students insights into a particular technique and the thinking process of each artist featured. In this workshop, artist Isadora Vaughan demonstrates an economical and highly adaptable process for creating sculptural forms through wax casting. Vaughan talks students through the process, with key vocabulary highlighted throughout. Students have the opportunity to hear directly from the artist and discover how the wax casting process aligns with core concepts that guide her creative practice. Vaughan’s process highlighted in this workshop has also informed her contribution to ACCA’s forthcoming exhibition 'Overlapping Magisteria: The 2020 Macfarlane Commissions'.

Curators: Max Delany, in collaboration with Devon Ackermann and Paul Yore Advisory note: This exhibition contains adult content of a sensitive nature. Viewer discretion is advised. Some parts of the exhibition also contain flashing lights and sound. Video produced by Gatherer Media

PAM X MEZ "Mutual Ritual"

Youtube

"MEZ (@mezafram) is a multidisciplinary artist [and tattooist] born in Baghdad, raised in Melbourne and based in LA. You may know her as the artist who gave Steve Lacy, Lil Uzi and Kanye West matching tattoos back in 2022. This week, MEZ has joined forces with cult Australian label PAM to unveil a new capsule collection." — Acclaim Magazine Fans of her work for a long time, PAM reached out last year hoping Mez could develop some designs to be included in their upcoming SS24 collection, “GATEWAY”. The cohesion between collaborators carried such strong visual energy that the resulting pieces took on a life of their own.
