Yves Klein – Anthropometries

Yves Klein used naked women as 'human paintbrushes' to make his 'Anthropometry' paintings, which were produced as elaborate performances in front of an audience. Klein, in bow-tie and suit, would conduct the women as they covered themselves in paint (a colour he patented as 'International Klein Blue') and made imprints of their bodies, whilst musicians played his 'Monotone Symphony' -- a single note played for twenty minutes, followed by twenty minutes of silence. TateShots talked to Elena Palumbo-Mosca, who modelled for Klein, and who appears in footage of one such performance currently being shown in the exhibition A Bigger Splash: Painting after Performance, at Tate Modern.

The Other Side of Hope Tour 2024

One night, a chase… video by tibetyoghurtninha vj set: Vj Suave Presented by @NomadCityRecords •The Other Side of Hope Tour 2024 Mola Oddity is a creative project centered around Birdy K, Yider, and Asr. They liken themselves to deep-sea creatures (Mola), possessing unique traits (Oddity) and the absorbent capability to digest a variety of influences, transforming the world's absurdities into peculiar tales. Mola Oddity's 2024 tour, titled "The Other Side Of Hope," features drummer Zhitong, guitarist E.o, DJ Guan, and VJ SUAVE;(drummer Leon & guitarist Thomas Lamb in Guangzhou) . The created melodies unfold like a flight encountering small air currents, inducing turbulence with dissonant notes at unexpected moments, yet leaving a sense of anticipation. The slightly offbeat laid-back rhythms maintain a delicate balance akin to walking a tightrope, allowing space for breath. Whether it's the exotic plucked melodies with tremolo reverberations or the pulsating Techno rhythms, in Mola Oddity's world, every element has its chance to take form. Listen with a childlike heart, and you'll discover a myriad of quirky sonic toys in their treasure trove.

BOARD SHOP

Vimeo

Hundreds of Skateboards, Snowboards, and Surfboards are choreographed at 24 boards per second into an ebullient montage of flickering imagery, illustrating the history, artistic beauty, and physical consequences of board culture. Patrick Smith created this short film as an homage to his favorite activity and culture. “Board Shop” Juxtaposes hundreds of vintage, classic, and contemporary designs and styles into a trance inducing maelstrom of 24 boards per second imagery. Along for the ride are objects that signify the consequential elements of board culture, namely, broken bones, crutches, and spinal gurneys.. Each object is a historical part of this vibrant world-wide cultural phenomena. Dedicated to all those riders out there, young and old. Healthy and injured. Once in place, the board culture never leaves our DNA, and the tools are forever a part of our collective memory and cultural experience.
