Tainan Cabral | MAFF Tour Rio (Episode 4)
In this season of MAFF Tour, our travels take us to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to catch up with a few incredibly talented creatives who give us a glimpse into their practice and culture. Episode 4 features visual artist, Tainan Cabral born and raised in Senador Camará, West side of Rio. Cabral's work is abstract and intensified by his usage of a vibrant color palette. Tainan uses art as an intervention on urban landscape around his neighborhood such as painting on walls, barricades, flowerbeds, energy boxes, and more. “Dubism is the synthesis of what art is for me. Just as a dub is born from a song, a work is born in the process of remixing the real image into something idealized. Transmuting reality with visual effects.
