Benton C Bainbridge

Benton C Bainbridge (Bronx, USA) creates media artworks, audiovisual performances, and site-specific installations with handcrafted AV systems. Benton is best known as a pioneer of realtime media; he makes moving images in the “visual music” genre of cinema, playing his movies in public at live shows and in his studio practice. Bainbridge’s “high touch” take on tech art yields handmade pixel paintings which alternate between abstraction and heavily processed camera imagery. Benton collaborates with a wide range of artists, including media art design and performance for two Beastie Boys world tours, analog video synthesizer FX for TV On The Radio’s Staring at the Sun music video, and Whitney Museum’s best-attended live event with video ensemble The Poool.
