Fabio Tozzo, born in 1993, is a Swiss Director of Photography based in Basel and Berlin. When Fabio started skateboarding in his early youth, he laid the foundation for his future work as a filmmaker. Thanks to skateboarding he was part of many road trips around the world and loved getting to know new places as well as their cultures. He always captured his experiences with still and moving images, from which he created numerous photographs and films on his own. These experiences, together with his long-time friends, still shape Fabio today and are reflected in his character as well as in his work as an artist. After completing his studies in film and animation, Fabio worked in various areas of the film industry. He developed an increased interest in light and color, which later led him to color grade series, short films and a range of commercials. Even though Fabio works exclusively as a DOP, his background as a Colorist influences him. He is aware of the possibilities offered by digital post-production and now likes to use additional analog tools to communicate the desired look at an early stage. Since starting his self-employment in 2018, Fabio shoots commercials, short films and music videos on both national and international productions. Meanwhile he is represented by agencies for Switzerland, Europe and beyond.
