In this season of MAFF Tour, our travels take us to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to catch up with a few incredibly talented creatives who give us a glimpse into their practice and culture. Episode 2 features stylist and researcher of Cool Hunter Favela, Rafaela Pinah who intertwines the social behavior and trends coming out of the Favelas in Rio with high fashion. Born in the West side of Rio, Pinah pulls references from modern Brazilian history, from music to literature, bringing important symbolism to her productions in order to break stereotypes and standards about the aesthetics of the favelas.
